In the presentation I highlight my family, my own educational experience, my grade 10-11 teacher, my capstone project, and lastly my friend who I had lost to cancer. I think it was important to reflect back on my influences and my reasonings for becoming an educator, as it helped shape my practice and teaching philosophy as an educator. Because of my experiences it is very important to me that my students feel safe, welcomed, included, and supported both inside and outside of the classroom.
