Within the presentation we discuss the three core disciplines of history, philosophy and sociology where in each we reflect on the concepts through the lens of a teacher candidate. This presentation strengthened my understanding of the intended and unintended functions of education, how our pasts can influence our teaching practice, and the importance of challenging past assumptions about education through these disciplines.
