My teaching philosophy is centered on child growth, as I believe that every child is capable of learning and achieving great things. As Malala Yousafzai once said “One child, one teacher, one book and one pen can change the world.” Education plays a crucial role in a child’s life and the classroom should be a place where students feel heard, included, and valued; A space where they are encouraged to take risks and explore new ideas. As an educator I believe that my job is not only to teach students academics but also kindness, inquiry and voice. This quote resonates with me because I believe providing children with the space and resources to succeed can make a difference in their life and can shape the individuals they become. In my future classroom I will strive to create a space where students feel welcomed, safe, and inspired. By creating these meaningful connections, I aspire to teach students to believe in themselves and their potential to become compassionate and strong individuals. In order to bring this quote and my philosophy to life I will connect with the students personally everyday by having personal conversations with each of them daily and greeting them by name with a smile every morning. I will keep a checklist of my students to ensure I connect with each of them daily and that no one is overlooked. I will also ensure that each of my lessons have multiple means of representation and expression for each student to have the opportunity to succeed. This teaching philosophy empowers students to become the best versions of themselves by creating a positive and nurturing classroom environment where students are supported, encouraged, and celebrated every day.
