First Peoples Principles of Learning

The First Peoples Principles of Learning (FPPL) is a foundational guideline for educators to integrate Indigenous perspectives and values into their teaching practice. As a teacher candidate it means incorporating these principles into each lesson in order to create an inclusive classroom where Indigenous perspectives are used and respected. These principles are important because they support and benefit all students by fostering a sense of belonging, personal growth, and relationship building. These values also help students gain a deeper understanding by learning from the land and engaging with hands on activities.
